At our Community Meeting on Saturday, November 15th, we will consider and discuss directions for our neighborhood, our city, and our nation.
We will vote for members of the board of the Whittier Neighborhood Association. There are a few open positions, there are a few returning board members, and, if you are interested in expanding the work of the board with your project, we can vote on that.
Our goal is to build community in the neighborhood. One idea that is out there is to hold a summer concert that is made up of Whittier Neighborhood musicians. But we need someone to organize such a thing. What’s your idea?
For more info, please email president@whittierneighborhood.org.We will be glad to set up a time to meet.
We will hear from council-member Darrell Watson. Darrell has proved to be responsive to our concerns and get things done. He can also tell us about whatever interests us about the city government.
We will meet Malet Kiros, a candidate for Congress. There will be questions and answers. Where do we want to go as a country? Personally, I have found that meeting candidates before they are elected is most effective to being heard. (All other known candidates were invited and at this time have not responded.)
We meet every other month on a Saturday morning, most often at the Ford-Warren Library, 2825 High St, Denver, CO 80205. We will have a time for information/interaction with people from the city government, elected representatives, police, relevant not-for-profits, etc. We will make time for folks to talk about neighborhood joys and neighborhood concerns. Join to meet new people and make connections. Coffee and bagels are served.
